It was an American magazine that ran weekly from 1883 to 1936, published initially as a humor and general interest magazine and featured many future famous artists and their cartoon work. In 1936 the name was bought and used in a different style of publication. Robert James Day (September 25, 1900 – February 7, 1985) was an American cartoonist and book illustrator.
