Bonnard-Bidault
Known as the father of the modern poster, Jules Chéret (1836 – 1932) was a French painter and lithographer. He worked on everything from theater to advertising. This poster advertises a company operated by Cheret that printed and distributed advertising posters. Bonnard-Bidault was a route on the French railroad (Chemin-de-Fer). Such routes were a frequent subject for travel posters by Cheret.
